Tenancy Strategy 2026-2031 Survey

Overview

Have Your Say on the Draft Tenancy Strategy 2026–2031

We are seeking view on our revised Tenancy Strategy 2026–2031.

The Tenancy Strategy sets out our expectations for Housing Associations operating within the Sevenoaks District. It provides guidance on the types of tenancies that should be offered, how tenancy reviews and renewals should be managed, and how social housing can be used effectively to meet local housing needs.

The Strategy seeks to ensure that there is a fair and consistent approach to tenancy management across the District.

The Strategy objectives are to:

  • Ensure social housing is allocated to those in greatest need
  • Promote stability and sustainable communities
  • Support vulnerable households
  • Make the best use of limited social housing stock
  • Encourage fairness, transparency and consistency in tenancy decisions
  • Help prevent homelessness and support residents to maintain suitable housing.

The Strategy also takes into account recent changes introduced through the Renters' Rights Act.

Your feedback is important and will help shape the final Tenancy Strategy before it is considered for adoption later in 2026.

We welcome comments from residents, partners, Councillors and other stakeholders.

Our survey will run from 17 July 2026 to 30 August 2026.

All responses will be carefully considered and used to inform the final version of the Strategy.

Although this survey does not ask for your name, any person information you provide will not be passed on to any other organisations and will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy [link to www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/privacy.
