Overview
Customers we are reviewing our Housing Allocations Policy.
This policy sets out who can join our Housing Register and how we allocate social housing to people on the Housing Register.
Demand for social housing in our District is far higher than the number of homes we have, so we must prioritise households with the greatest need.
We have a legal duty to prioritise certain groups, but we can also use our discretion to support other local priorities where appropriate.
Our Housing Allocations Policy was last updated in 2024. We are now carrying out a full review to make sure it remains fair, effective, and responsive to the needs of our community.
